Fate of the unproductive servant.

Matthew 25:30 “And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Jesus gave us another parable, but this time it was about an unprofitable servant. Three workers had been given money to invest and make a profit. Two of the three workers invested the money and earned a 100% profit on their investments. The third worker hid the money entrusted to him and made the boss no money. When the boss returned, he asked for an accounting report from all three men. The two who made a return were praised and blessed. The third, lazy servant was fired on the spot and tossed into outer darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Are you a profitable or unprofitable servant? In the context of the parable, Jesus described servants working for Him, the King of kings. Some servants do the will of the Father, and there are those that don’t. They are unproductive because they take the gifts of the Spirit given to them and never use them for the good of the kingdom. They squander the gifts God gives them or don’t use them at all. Whether the gifts are ecclesiastical, charismatic, or service gifts, as taught by Paul, we are to use them for the good of the kingdom. There is a price to be paid by those who do nothing with what has been given to them. Those that are unprofitable servants are tossed out of the kingdom and into outer darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth: HELL!

If you think that what I am saying is heresy or false teaching, please reread the parable of the unprofitable servant here in Matthew 25. Jesus, Himself, said it not me! Jesus will order the removal of unprofitable servants, who are to be thrown into hell! Remember that it was Jesus who said that His mother, brothers and sisters were those who did the will of the Father. Therefore, can we conclude then that those “servants” (believers) who don’t do the will of the Father are not really part of the family of God?

There are going to be a lot of surprised “believers” who think that they will inherit eternal life only to find out that their unproductive life on earth has cost them eternity with the Messiah. If you doubt me or think me crazy, read the words of John the Baptist and Jesus the Messiah regarding unfruitful branches that are cut down, allowed to wither, cast into the fire and burned up! What other fire would they be thrown into except hell? Where do branches come from – the vine? Who is the vine – JESUS? Who are the branches – believers? THINK ABOUT IT!

Father, it is saddening and disheartening to think that so many people who call themselves believers will find out that they were not believers at all. Unfruitful branches or unproductive servants or foolish virgins, the title doesn’t matter; they are all the same. People claiming to be believers who will be cast into outer darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth! They will not be a part of the family of God! My heart breaks to know such things will happen. However, Your Word cannot be wrong because You, the Word, never lie! You are not a man that You should lie! Help me to be a more productive servant and do the work I was given to do! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
