Eyes are watching everyone: good and bad.

The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good. – Proverbs 15:3

Each day we read more and more of the sage advice that God’s Holy Spirit give us through the experiences and wisdom of Solomon. The proverb for today has been said before and studied over and over, but do we really grasp what it says? The eyes of God see all. They keep watch, like a soldier on guard duty, on the wicked and the good. We don’t do anything that God doesn’t see or doesn’t know we will do already.

Integrity is often defined as what you do when no one is around comprises who you really are. People have done things in “secret” for eons, but the truth is that no one does anything in secret. You may not see any human being around, but the spirit world sees it. Demons and angels see your “secret” action(s), but most importantly, God sees it. He sees ALL of time as one long picture. He views the day of creation simultaneously with the day of judgment. He knows the end from the beginning. He knows the “secret” things you will do before they’re even concocted in your brain.

Therefore, stop and think about what you’re doing, even when no one else is around. Remember that God is there watching you keeping vigil like a soldier on guard duty. He never leaves or abandons His post, or you for that matter.. God sees all that everyone does. No one escapes the roving eyes of the LORD. Be true to others, be true to God who see all, but also be true to yourself. Your “hidden” actions escape only those who aren’t around. Everything that happens in the “dark” will be brought to Light one day. You and God know what you do. Whatever you have done in secret, God is willing to forgive IF you confess it to Him.

Father, I know all too well the act of secret things. My past is littered with such stories, but the gracious and beautiful thing is that You don’t remember them anymore because I brought them to You and confessed those sins in expectation of Your forgiveness. You promised to remember no more the wrongs I’ve done that You forgave. Help me to walk in the Light, as You are in the Light, because You are that Light. Being above-board is the only way for me to walk – walking in the Spirit and not after the flesh. Help me to crucify my flesh daily, so that I may be more like You. I want to be just like my Daddy! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
