We’ve got to live in harmony and tear down denominational walls!

Scripture:
How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony! – Psalm 133:1

Observation:
David wrote that it is awesome for brothers to live in harmony. It brings about a great sense of oneness when people live in one mind and one accord. We can read of this in the NT when the church was formed in Jerusalem after the death and resurrection of Jesus. The Bible tells us that no one had lack and everyone was cared for because the people were in one mind and one accord – in unity!

Application:
It’s high time that we tear down the walls of religious separation among the denominations and live in one accord in the body of Christ. Jesus went to the cross to tear down the wall of separation between Jew and Gentile, so that people of all nations could inherit the promise of Abraham. Can you imagine what can be done for, in, and through the kingdom of God when his children learn to live in unity? It will be pleasant and wonderful! NOW is that time for all people who call themselves the children of God to live in unity, set aside personal and denominational differences, and come together to fulfill the Great Commission and see a great harvest of souls for God’s glory!

Prayer:
Father, my prayer today is short and simple. I ask that you would help me to be one to deliver the message of unity among the brethren. WE have got to get past our denominational pride and break down the walls that keep us from working together to see the greatest influx of souls into your kingdom since time began. I am like one crying in the wilderness because people don’t want to relent from their ideals and do the real work of the kingdom – seeking and saving the lost. They would rather sit at the table and engorge themselves instead of feeding those who are spiritually dying. Help me to spread the word and get people to live in harmony through the power of your Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
