I tell you, her sins—and they are many—have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love. – Luke 7:47
While eating at a Pharisee’s house, Jesus was anointed for his burial by a woman of ill repute. She cried over him and washed his feet with her tears and hair and anointed him with rare perfume. The Pharisee rebuked Jesus because of whom he associated. However, Jesus told the Pharisee that those who have had many sins forgiven love much, and those who love little have had little forgiven.
How much have you had forgiven? To me it doesn’t matter how many sins I’ve committed because I love Jesus with all my heart, soul, and mind. Why? Because I know that even to have one sin of mine forgiven by Jesus meant that he had to go to the cross to pay the price for that one sin! What a price to pay! Thus, I respect the love that he showed me and am greatly appreciative of what he’s done for me! I can’t even begin to save myself let alone give myself eternal life; thus, Jesus paid the price and paved the way to Father for me!!!! He’s done the same for you. Are you grateful for what he’s done through his death, burial, and resurrection? Have you given your life to him in return? If so, show him some LOVE today by loving others!
Father, I know that much has been forgiven toward me because I was, as Paul said, of the worst of sinners! You loved me enough to die for me and forgive me of my sins (even one) through the offering of your only Son as payment for my wrongs. WOW! Therefore, I will not stomp on the blood of Jesus and will show my gratitude to you through praise, worship, and humility, as well as loving others as myself! Thank you for loving me! I love you! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
