There is still only one message to share!

Scripture:
I have had one message for Jews and Greeks alike—the necessity of repenting from sin and turning to God, and of having faith in our Lord Jesus. – Acts 20:21

Observation:
Paul shared with those he’d taught in Ephesus over the years. He told the elders that he’d done what the Lord had assigned him to do – share one message to ALL people. That message was for everyone to repent from sin and turn to God and to have faith in the Lord Jesus. This message is the whole of the Good News (gospel) we are to share, as commanded by Jesus.

Application:
What message are you sharing with people?? Is it the Good News of Jesus, as Paul so succinctly outlined in this passage? Or, is it another gospel of another Jesus, a false messiah? Your life and mine are the living witnesses of what Jesus has done, is doing, and will do for others. He saved us from sin and gave us eternal life through the punishment and execution he suffered on the cross and the resurrection that followed. Are you (and I) telling people how Jesus came to and can do the following even to this day, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be releasedthat the blind will seethat the oppressed will be set freeand that the time of the Lord’s favor has come. Jesus ordered the apostles and all believers to preach this Good News to all people everywhere, make disciples of those that convert, baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and Spirit, and instruct them to do all that he’s commanded. Are we doing that? Or, are we doing something else? Paul said that he’d only what the Lord set out for him to do – the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.

Prayer:
Father, oh what a legacy Paul left for all believers to follow. He completed the race and finished with peace in his heart. He had done all that you assigned to him. May I be of the same obedience and devotion to you as my dearly departed brother of old. You have commissioned each and every true believer and disciple of Jesus to tell others of the goodness they can have IF they accept your gracious gift of Love through Jesus the Anointed One. They can have eternal life if they repent of their sins, turn to you, and have in Jesus. May I share that same message to all that you have appointed me to reach. Your will be done, not mine. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
