God’s word is true and will come to pass.

I will make Egyptian fight against Egyptian, brother against brother, neighbor against neighbor, city against city, province against province. The Egyptians will lose heart, and I will confuse their plans. – Isaiah 19:2-3a

Isaiah wrote about this prophecy some 2,700 years ago concerning the future of the once mighty Egypt. In his message, he predicts how God will frustrate their plans and cause the nation to delve into civil war. The piece ends, however, with God speaking of one day blessing Egypt, along with Assyria and Israel, but will in the meantime bring her to her political knees.

Isn’t it truly amazing how awesome God is? We read of a people, who once enslaved God’s chosen people, but who one day will be considered God’s blessed people! Egypt has been a land of pantheism and false gods. Even today, they call on their false god, allah the moon-god, to save them and deliver them, but what do we see in the news daily? There is civil unrest in the streets of Cairo! Brothers war against brothers with faction rising against faction. The best laid plans of Egypt will not succeed, for God has declared that he would disrupt them and send them into political chaos and unrest.

God is true to his word. It always accomplishes what he set it out to do. It will not return to him void! Let us learn from this lesson to heed the word of God and to trust in it. The word of God nothing to us if we don’t read it, believe it, and apply it to our daily lives!

Father, I know your word is true. It is alive, active, and sharper than any sword! It reveals the inner most secrets, thoughts, feelings, and desires of our hearts. There is nothing we can hide from you. As you’ve shown us through the words of Isaiah what awaits the people of Egypt, both bad and good, help us to see the fate of our nation. She rebels against you and turns her back on you! Will you now invoke your justice and judgment upon her in the coming days, weeks, and months? Or, will you spare us and allow a return the one, who founded this nation, You? I trust in you regardless of what happens in the USA. My life is in your hands, and you are my source and portion. May your mercy be poured out upon this land once more long enough to allow a true remnant, called and chosen by you, to return to their God. Your will be done, not ours. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
