God will give us the words to speak.

Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say. – Exodus 4:12

Moses received his divine commission to lead the Hebrews out of bondage from God during his burning bush experience. During his election, Moses gave God seven (7) different excuses why he was not fit for the job, including the opinion that he stuttered and had troubles speaking in front of others. God solved that issue rather quickly by appointing Aaron, Moses’ brother, as his mouthpiece and by stating that He, God, would instruct Moses and Aaron what to say.

WOW! What a direct, divine illumination this message should be to all of us. If God told Moses not to worry about what to say because He’d be with him, then how dare we come up with any excuse as to why we don’t share our testimony with others about the good news of Jesus? Do you see the imperative command at the beginning of this passage – NOW GO! God didn’t mince words with Moses or excuse his excuses. God was direct and to the point. “Get up! Go! Speak! I’ve got your back.” People are waiting to be freed from sin, darkness, and death by the power of God’s Spirit as he uses us to tell them of his love, mercy, and grace. Are you ready? Then join me by getting up and getting out there to share our testimonies.

Father, forgive us for our cowardice and shame for not being bold and stepping out in faith to share your love with others, as they did with us. You tell us through the apostle John that we overcome the enemy by Jesus’ blood and the word of our testimony. You obviously give us the words to say when we need them. We need to just be sensitive to your leading and be obedient to your Spirit. It’s not really that hard. Empower us. Thank you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
