Yes, we live under constant danger of death because we serve Jesus, so that the life of Jesus will be evident in our dying bodies. So we live in the face of death, but this has resulted in eternal life for you. – 2 Corinthians 4:11-12
As Paul continued in his 3rd letter to Corinth, he told them of the troubles he and his associates faced time and again as they preached the good news of Jesus to people all around the Mediterranean. They faced death constantly because they stood for the light of Jesus and spread the love of the Lord wherever they went.
People, I’ve been saying it over and over that the day fast approaches where your freedom to stand on the street corner, in the church, in the playground, around work, or wherever you may enjoy your Christian freedom will soon end! It is no longer a matter of IF but WHEN! Look around you. There is more insanity building in America than ever before. We’ve all chided the conspiracy theorists for not trusting the government and alluding to the inexplicable. Well why else would our government engage in the greatest military exercise in the history of the USA during peace time and on the home front? Why does the government push for chipping people for the purposes of tracking medical records, so they say, and are encouraged by the business world to do so to protect your privacy and make commerce easier? Hmmmm.
You had better wake up and see the truth of the times we are in today. We may not live in the face of death daily for preaching the word of God as Paul did, but the day quickly approaches. What will you do the day when plain-clothes officers cuff and stuff your pastor on a Sunday for speaking against sin, not the sinner, as a hate speech crime? That will be just the beginning of the birth pains! Then it will escalate to the point of not just imprisonment but execution, as the antichrist comes to power before Jesus returns to end his tyranny of death and destruction!
People in repressed portions of the globe are dying daily as martyrs for the sake of the good news and the glory of God’s kingdom! Are you willing to give your life for Jesus? Many say they will live for Jesus, but will they die for Jesus?!? That time has come!
Father, thank you for showing us that to die is gain but to live is Christ. While we are here on this earth, you’ve tasked us with sharing the Truth of Jesus and the resurrection! You desire that all repent from sin and come to life; however, we know that all will not come. How terrible and sad! To those that are facing death daily for their faith in you, I say help them Father. Comfort them in their hour of need. Make them bold enough to endure and show the world that though they take their physical life, they cannot take their eternal life! May we all be so impassioned as they are to not only life for Christ but to die for him too! Lord, your will be done, not mine. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
