A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences. – Proverbs 22:3
The wise author of this couplet informs the reader that a wise, or prudent, person recognizes the danger ahead and prepares for the storm. A fool just accepts things as they are and goes along for the ride and takes whatever consequences occur.
The nation of America sees and hears the demoralization and decay that quickly has become the normal motis operandi. Our people have lost any sense of morality. They live and thrive in debauchery. Wrong is declared right, and right is declared wrong. The love of Jehovah God this country once held has all but vanished save for the remnant of true disciples of Jesus.
Jesus told us that wars, deadly storms, diseases, and the like that would come and have come are but the beginnings of the birth pains associated with the decline and final fall of humanity. Once the antichrist comes on the scene, he will annihilate most people who oppose him. In fact Jesus went on to say that had the days of tribulation not been shortened, there would be no one left alive on earth!
So to those that make a mockery of the things I share with them about the coming days of darkness of which all people, both saint and sinner, must endure, I say, “without trusting in Jesus and having a personal relationship with him, all hope is lost.” However, there is the beauty of knowing that we have a blessed hope in Jesus, who can and will save us from the eternal punishment of the sinner and demon, if we believe that Jehovah raised him from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit and then publicly confess, “Jesus is Lord.”
It is not too late. Now is the time, and today is the day of salvation. Jesus may come like a thief in the night, but he will do so on an appointed day and time of which only Jehovah God knows. Thus, you need to trust in him because you don’t know the day, hour, minute, or second that you might check out before he comes, if you should. You have but this lifetime to make a choice to serve and trust God. Once you expire, that is it!
Father, thank you for loving all of humanity despite the fact that not all humanity loves you. You chose me from among the billions on earth to be your child, for which I am ever grateful. I want to share the Good News of Jesus with as many people as possible, and thank you for making this forum available where I can do so around the world. There may be people who read my devotions and become part of our family. I won’t know until we meet in your kingdom one day! I plant the seed expecting another to water and for you to give the increase. Please send out laborers into the harvest, Lord of the harvest. Your will be done, not mine. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
