What sorrow awaits those who look to Egypt for help, trusting their horses, chariots, and charioteer sand depending on the strength of human armies instead of looking to the lord, the Holy One of Israel. – Isaiah 31:1
The prophet Isaiah wrote a message to the nations of Israel from the Lord concerning their trust in Egypt. The people of Israel often turned to their neighboring countries for help in times of military distress or political oppression from foreign governments. They would quickly forget the mighty acts YeHoVaH had done for them and not turn to him to fight their battles for them. When they did turn away from YHVH to man, he often sent invading armies to punish the people for their insolence and betrayal in the ultimate move of turning them back to him. He did so to show them that relying on man is futile.
Americans have long begun the process of relying upon the government to protect, feed, house, clothe, school, and even babysit them through entitlements and giveaways. The truth of the matter is that you are only as safe and free as the US government will allow you to be once you enslave yourself to its tyranny. The govt doesn’t care about you. The people elected to serve us, the real govt, have forgotten their duties, renounced their allegiance to the law of the land, and have taken up arms against the citizens they were elected to represent.
Go ahead, continue to worship the antichrist spirit in Barack Hussein Obama. Listen to the lies and deceit of false hope and great change. He and his cronies in Congress have turned our once God-fearing nation into a brazen serpent that turns and bites and envenomates its own and brings death not life, destruction not construction, and fear not hope. Jehovah warned Israel about trusting in kings (or presidents in our case) and what it would do to its people. They didn’t listen 3,000 years ago, and we don’t heed the same warning and learn from their mistakes!
Here, according to none other than the Creator himself, is what happens to a nation whose god is not God himself and trusts in man rather than Him:
“This is how a king will reign over you,” Samuel said. “The king will draft your sons and assign them to his chariots and his charioteers, making them run before his chariots. Some will be generals and captains in his army, some will be forced to plow in his fields and harvest his crops, and some will make his weapons and chariot equipment. The king will take your daughters from you and force them to cook and bake and make perfumes for him. He will take away the best of your fields and vineyards and olive groves and give them to his own officials. He will take a tenth of your grain and your grape harvest and distribute it among his officers and attendants. He will take your male and female slaves and demand the finest of your cattle and donkeys for his own use. He will demand a tenth of your flocks, and you will be his slaves. When that day comes, you will beg for relief from this king you are demanding, but then the lord will not help you.”But the people refused to listen to Samuel’s warning. “Even so, we still want a king,” they said. “We want to be like the nations around us. Our king will judge us and lead us into battle.”
Father, thank you for all that you have done for me and are doing for me and will do for me. You’ve given me Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and you’ve made me your friend and child and servant simultaneously. I humbly and gratefully yield my life to you to be Teachable, Obedient, Repentant, Atoned-for, and Humble before you. Out of my love for you, I keep your commandments and am willing and able to do what you have assigned to me. Help me to be focused and actively engaged in the mission you’ve assigned. Complacency and timidity are not to be found in me, as you empower and equip me to do the work of the kingdom. You have given me all that I need and will continue to provide over time. I trust not in men or governments but in you alone! May your will be done, not mine. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
